Four Seoul Layover Hacks
Switch apps before you land
Google Maps can’t give reliable walking or driving directions in Korea by law. Download Naver Map and Kakao Map before you fly — Naver’s English interface is the strongest for transit and walking.
Rent a hanbok for free palace entry
Wearing a rented traditional hanbok (from ~₩15,000/hour) gets you free entry to Gyeongbokgung and Seoul’s other four grand palaces — cheaper than the ticket alone.
Take the free transit tour
If your layover is roughly 4–12 hours, Incheon Airport’s free K-Transit Tour includes a guided trip to a nearby attraction — no visa hassle, no cost, register at the transit desk.
Confirm your terminal before you land
ICN has two terminals connected by an 18-minute free shuttle train, not walking distance. Korean Air, Delta, Air France and KLM use T2 — check yours in advance.
