Four Doha Layover Hacks
Ride the Gold Class carriage
The metro’s front carriage is a small upgrade that buys you space and quiet — worth it after a long-haul flight in the summer crush.
Drink karak at the source
A cup of karak from a Souq Waqif stall is QAR 1–2; the same tea in a West Bay hotel is ten times that, and the stall version is the real thing.
The free skyline shot
The Museum of Islamic Art’s promenade gives you the postcard West Bay skyline across the water for free — no ticket, no need to go inside.
Only Karwa collects at arrivals
If someone offers a “cheaper” ride at the arrivals hall, it’s a tout. Walk to the marked Karwa rank or open Uber — nothing else is licensed to pick up there.
